Most software people notice is an app. The software that matters is quieter: the networks calls travel through, the health records in your pocket, the sensors watching motorway conditions, the systems that run schools, banks and aircraft operations. Monni Advisers has spent three decades building and keeping exactly that kind of software running.
Monni Advisers Osakeyhtiö is an independent Finnish engineering company, founded in 2015 and carrying an unbroken engineering practice that began in 1995. We design, build and look after production software across the whole stack, from embedded devices and mobile applications to cloud platforms and the identity systems that guard them.
We are deliberately small and senior. The same principal engineers who once shaped platform architecture at Nokia now write, review and operate every system we deliver. No handovers to a junior bench; no rotation of strangers through your codebase.
Architecture used to mean drawing the system once. Today it is the discipline that decides whether cloud platforms, AI capabilities and the systems you already own add up to an asset, or to a decade of debt. That judgement is what we are hired for first; everything else on this page exists to back it up.
The judgement comes from unusually wide ground: thirty years of architecture across embedded devices, telecom networks, mobile platforms, national services and cloud native SaaS, and applied AI work, patents included, from long before the current wave. Having designed in that many environments means we have watched how architectures age in each of them. So we design for the second decade, not for the demo.
Where your system actually stands, where it should go, and a bridge between the two that respects what already works: repairs before rewrites, always with the migration path spelled out.
Where models genuinely belong in your system, and where they don't. Data, identity, cost and reliability constraints worked out before the excitement, so AI lands as a capability, not a liability.
The fastest change in software work since the compiler is happening inside development teams. We coach teams to use AI well in real work: where it accelerates, where it misleads, and how review discipline and craftsmanship survive it. We teach it from using these tools daily in production ourselves, not from slides.
Our architecture survives contact with production because the same hands implement it. No diagram leaves the house without someone here willing to code it.
System design that survives contact with reality, and the practical delivery to prove it. We take responsibility from the first diagram to the running, maintained system.
Cloud native services on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or European infrastructure. Kubernetes, infrastructure as code and CI/CD, built for the boring virtues: availability, observability, cost sanity.
Native iOS and Android, React Native and work across platforms, including apps a whole country uses, with accessibility and store discipline treated as engineering, not afterthoughts.
From C/C++ on constrained silicon through Bluetooth and IoT to the cloud behind it. We speak both the firmware's dialect and the platform's: the whole chain, one vendor.
Machine learning where it earns its keep: intelligence on the device, streaming data pipelines, analytical stores. Patented work in predictive systems, applied long before it was fashionable.
Authentication and access done right: Keycloak, OIDC, SAML, national electronic identification. Deployed into banks, public services and products on many platforms without breaking a running business.
You have probably used something we helped build without ever seeing our name. That is how infrastructure should work.
Embedded software in 3G base stations deployed worldwide; the architecture of the world's first mobile web browser; platform architecture across Nokia's smartphone era.
Development of the national health records mobile application used across Finland, with authentication, accessibility and reliability at the standard a nation's health data demands.
Software in the weather stations watching Nordic motorways; an operations platform serving the global aviation industry, built to defence industry standards.
Identity systems inside a major Finnish bank; the platform running nationwide school assessment; education administration at the scale of a city; consumer platforms serving millions with high availability.
Organisations this engineering has served include Nokia, Airbus Defence and Space, Kela, Vaisala, Veikkaus, the City of Helsinki, CSC and Huawei, alongside startups whose entire product we built.
MonniHub is our service platform for many industries: live, always up to date applications for coaches, hotels, restaurants, event organisers and manufacturers, engineered with the same discipline as the infrastructure work. European hosting, encryption throughout, and data that belongs to the customer. It is the clearest proof of what we can build and operate as a partner: a production platform we run ourselves, end to end.
Give us a problem and hold us responsible for the system: architecture, build, deployment, and the unglamorous years afterwards. Best when the system matters more than the org chart.
Architecture and engineering at principal level inside your own team: the person you bring in when the problem is hard, the codebase is real, and the stakes justify experience. This is how the world's most demanding engineering organisations have used us.
A city's life runs on water. Quiet, critical, impossible to live without. Our software is like that: it needs someone who knows it and keeps it sound. We take maintenance mandates seriously and stay. Our oldest running responsibilities span decades.
Medical software under FDA guidelines, banking identity, environments built to defence standards, national accessibility standards. Compliance isn't a checkbox culture to us. It's the discipline the work deserves.
A Finnish limited company under EU law, working in plain Finnish and English, with data handled the European way. One name is responsible for the work, and you know it.
Thirty years means we've retired more technologies than most teams have adopted. We choose what lasts, bridge legacy to modern without drama, and don't sell rewrites when repairs will do.
You get the senior engineer you spoke with, not a pyramid billed under their name. Deliberately limited engagements, honestly scoped, finished properly.
Tell us what needs to exist, or what must not fail. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right partner for it.
Two homes, one practice: we serve in person from Espoo and Kokkola, and remotely everywhere.
